Today we will go half-way through the Panama Canal and anchor in Gatun Lake. Then the ship will turn around and go back. We went up to the Crow’s Nest to watch the locks open and close and our ship rise and go through the locks. We watched a film aboard ship about the building of the canal and it was very interesting.

  1. It is a truly amazing experience. I took my parents through the Panama Canal for their 50th Anniversary. We loved it, couldn’t stop off in Panama. There was some “unrest” going on at the time and it wasn’t considered safe. We had started in San Juan, Puerto Rico,, several other Carribbean Island stops. I remember it was really hot when we went through. Carol
